How the course works

1. Purchase the complete course

Pay $350 securely online. Your student account will be created and you will receive access to the protected Boat and PWC theory presentations.

2. Study at your own pace

Work through both presentations during your 30-day access period, then complete the online practice questions. We recommend repeating the practice exams until you are scoring consistently before attempting the official knowledge tests.

3. Complete your practical course

Master Boat Licence will contact you after payment to arrange your on-water practical boating course. You will learn and demonstrate essential boating skills including vessel preparation, safety checks, steering, low-speed manoeuvring, berthing, navigation awareness and emergency procedures.

4. Sit the official tests at Service NSW

The official General Boat Licence and PWC knowledge tests are completed separately through Service NSW. We recommend booking your Service NSW appointment in advance. Appointment availability cannot be guaranteed by MBL.
