Our complete course prepares you for both the NSW General Boat Driving Licence and Personal Watercraft (PWC) Licence. A PWC is also commonly called a Jet Ski. The course combines classroom instruction, practical boating experience and post-course online revision so you can prepare properly for both official tests.

How the course works

1. Enrol in the complete course

Pay $350 securely online to reserve your complete Boat and PWC course package.

2. Complete the theory and practical training

We teach the essential Boat and PWC theory in class, where your instructor can explain the rules and answer your questions. You then complete hands-on, on-water practical boating training covering vessel preparation, safety checks, steering, low-speed manoeuvring, berthing, navigation awareness and emergency procedures.

3. Revise online after the course

After your course, you receive 30 days’ secure access to the Boat and PWC presentations and practice questions. Use this material to revise until you are confident and scoring consistently in the practice tests.

4. Sit the official tests at Service NSW

Book and sit the official General Boat Licence and PWC knowledge tests through Service NSW. The Boat and PWC tests are separate, although Service NSW offers a combined test fee when both are completed together.

Important PWC and Jet Ski licence information

You must obtain a NSW General Boat Driving Licence before you can obtain a PWC licence.
No additional practical-experience evidence is required to upgrade from a General Boat Licence to a PWC licence, but you must pass the PWC knowledge test.
This is a complete course package; individual theory and practical components are not sold separately.
The 30-day expiry applies only to post-course online presentation access.
Service NSW knowledge-test and licence fees are not included.
Master Boat Licence prepares you for the process but does not issue or guarantee a NSW Boat or PWC licence.
