Temporary Flexible Licensing Pathway
For more than seven years, Master Boat Licence has helped students obtain their NSW boat licence through our popular one-day training courses.
While our traditional one-day course format is temporarily unavailable, we expect it to return in time for the peak summer boating season. In the meantime, you can still prepare for your licence through our flexible three-step pathway:
Complete the theory course online at your own pace.
Undertake practical boating instruction with Master Boat Licence.
Sit the official knowledge test and lodge your application at a Service NSW Centre.
You receive the benefit of our proven course material and practical boating experience, with the flexibility to complete each stage at a time that suits you.
Please note: Under the current temporary arrangement, Master Boat Licence provides theory preparation and practical instruction. The official knowledge test and licence application are completed separately through Service NSW.
1. Study online — Purchase 30-day access to the complete General Boat Licence theory presentation and practice questions.
2. Complete your practical — Undertake the required on-water practical boating course with Master Boat Licence.
3. Sit your official test — Book and complete the official knowledge test at a Service NSW Centre, then submit your licence application.
